Saint-Louis en l'Île is a Roman Catholic parish church located at 19 Rue Saint-Louis en l'Île on Île Saint-Louis in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. It was constructed between 1664 and 1725, and is dedicated to King Louis IX of France, or Saint Louis. Before the 17th century, the island that is now known as Île Saint-Louis was called Ile Notre-Dame. The island was given to the bishop of Paris in 867, and was used as a pasture and for storing wood. Île Saint-Louis is one of two natural islands in the Seine River in Paris. The other island is Île de la Cité, which is home to the Notre-Dame Cathedral.  The name Île Saint-Louis comes from King Louis IX, who was nicknamed Saint Louis. The island's name dates back to 1725. Île Saint-Louis is a quaint island in the Fourth Arrondissement, and is close to the Marais, Notre Dame, and the Latin Quarter. Some say it's like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city.     Apartment very pleasant and consistent with the photos/descriptions. In a charming street going from the Seine to the very commercial rue St Antoine, and very close to the Pl des Vosges, magical at any time. Absolute calm in the evening. Very bright during the day. Perfect welcome, Grégory very efficient and friendly. I recommend this apartment.
