The apartment is an easy 15/20 minute walk from the Gare du Nord, although you can also reach it by bus or metro. Metro Anvers is on the East-West line 2, which takes you via Monceau and the fashionable 17th and 8th arrondissements to the Arc de Triomphe in one direction,and Nation via Pere Lachaise cemetery in the other.
Walk five minutes to Metro Abbesses and you're on the North-South line 12, which going South takes you to Gare St Lazare, for "Les Grands Magasins", Madeleine, Concorde, and onto the Left Bank - Solferino (for Musee d'Orsay), Sevres Babylone (for Bon Marche) and finally Montparnasse. There are also two useful buses nearby. Catch number 30 on Boulevard de Rochechouart, for Trocadero, via Arc de Triomphe, in one direction and Gare du Nord in the other. Catch number 67 by Pigalle metro (5 minutes walk away) for the Hotel de Ville and beyond onto the Left Bank. If you don't fancy public transport, "Les Grands Magasins", Opera and Madeleine are a gentle 20 minute stroll down the hill.
