Very responsive host, easy check-in/out process and great location (right in the heart of Chelsea and near relevant subway lines). However, I experienced numerous issues that left me unsatisfied with my stay. Firstly, we had a mice infestation halfway through. On one occasion we saw traces that a mouse (or rat) had been in our apartment, and on another occasion we saw 2 mice scurry through our kitchen and living room late at night. The mice had eaten through a few items of food and left dropping all over the apartment (in pots, pans, dishes, drawers) - resulting in us needing to have an exterminator in to seal & spray the house, which was inconvenient and quite distressing. Everything needed to be scrubbed down and disinfected for health & cleanliness purposes. Next, it doesn't mention this in the listing but the floors are incredibly creaky, and I cannot stress this enough. As moderate-to-light sleepers, my partner and I struggled to sleep most nights as you could clearly hear every movement of the tenants above - and every footstep reverberated throughout the apartment. You could feel the walls shaking with most steps at night. While there was no street noise that I could hear, the floor above is so thin that we could hear conversations happening too. While this is potentially to be expected in NYC, the creaky floors add a whole other layer to the noise that you cannot drown out with earplugs. We also had one occasion where the host had scheduled a TV cabinet to be replaced and built in our apartment without warning us, resulting in us being awoken by a man coming in and building them.
